Low Carb Ranch Dressing? Low Fat Ranch Dressing? What’s your choice today?

I love ranch dressing and use it for so many things including as a dip for my veggies and on my salad. What I don’t love? Is the amount of sugar generally found in store bought ranch or any flavor dressing for that matter.

Usually I go with olive oil and balsamic vinegar, salt and pepper but sometimes you just need the creaminess of ranch. I actually have two make at home creamy ranch dressing recipes. One is low carb and the other is low fat. You can enjoy the low carb version if you’re following a keto program although I do not. (For an explanation read this: Why I don’t do keto anymore.)

I make the low fat version more often than I do the low carb version because I like to keep everything in check. BUT also really love the low-carb version recipe that follows. It’s delicious for when I splurge on naked wings or buffalo cauliflower.

This is my favorite, easy to make, low carb ranch dressing. You’ll have plenty left over to use later.

Low-Carb Creamy Ranch Dressing

  • 1/2 mayonnaise
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tsp lemon juice
  • 2 tsp parsley
  • 2 tsp dill
  • 1 tsp chives
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 sea salt
  • 1/4 black pepper
  • 2 cups low fat buttermilk

Add everything to a bowl and whisk together well to combine. I then store in a mason jar. It’s best to use this within a week.

Low Fat Creamy Ranch Dressing

Not too much difference to the low fat version except cutting the fat in the mayonnaise, sour cream and switching the heavy cream for fat free Greek yogurt:

  • 1/3 cup Hellman’s light mayonnaise
  • 3/4 cup fat free sour cream
  • 3/4 cup fat free Greek yogurt
  • 2 tsp lemon juice
  • 2 tsp parsley
  • 2 tsp dill
  • 1 tsp chives
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 sea salt
  • 1/4 black pepper
  • 2 cups 1% low fat buttermilk

Again add everything to a blow and whisk well. 1/4 cup of this delicious dressing is approximately 52 calories so I have it several times a week.
