I have always been an exerciser – loved it. Unfortunately, I’ve also always have been a dieter as in yo-yo dieting. It’s nothing for my friends to see my weight swing 50 pounds in a year to 18 months. A few years back, all of that changed when I met a wonderful coach locally where I live in Live Oak. At that time, my friend Becky was the owner of a gym that offers Zumba and strength training classes. I quickly found out – I LOVE ZUMBA! What a great way to end a stressful day.
As Becky and I became friends I tagged along to watch her in a triathlon. It was inspirational. To date, I have completed numerous half marathons, several triathlons, mud runs, and more. As of updating this post, I am almost 58 and have NO plans to stop!
Along the way, I have lost 20 pounds and am determined to lose the rest of the weight that creeps on us all as we get older. I have heard that those of us over 40, gain 10 pounds a year.
