STOP trying to lose weight.

Over the years and as a yo-yo dieter fitness instructor myself, I have seen some CRAZY suggestions to lose weight. It seems the focus is on weight loss as the cure all be all for health and wellness.  I write this today to yell out loud – BULLCRAP.

Yes, weight is part of an overall healthy body along with other key indicators but it’s not the be all do all “experts” will have you believing.  Exercise plays a HUGE roll as well in living a healthy lifestyle.

I admit it. Since my hysterectomy and menopause I’m struggling with my weight. I’m a no BS cut to the chase kind of person as I’m sure you’ve realized by now. But you know what? Even with this plus size body and menopause belly I’m dealing with, my BP stays firmly 112/115 over 70/74.  That’s HUGE.

Summer doesn’t care that we were locked down last year. It wants us to be ready to put on that swimsuit and hit the beach. During the pandemic, I took my very popular fitness classes online.  And a side benefit folks reported? Weight Loss!

Here are just a few of the comments we’ve received:

Barbara Yes, thank y’all for all your hard work…y’all are the BESTEST ever!!

Gayle Great workout Denise, thanks.

Jean That was a good one. So glad you will still be doing online classes.

Dina Everyone else gained weight but I lost weight doing classes with you! Gentle Flow Yoga is my favorite!

Move it, move it, move it! Yes, keeping a healthy weight is important as is everything else that goes into living a healthy lifestyle. But what if for just today, you take the focus off tracking every morsel you put in your mouth. Simply focus on on moving, motivation and accountability? I promise you’ll feel better.

Hope you are staying healthy & happy.

Love ya,

Denise
